Our House - Year One

This month marks one year since we moved into our beautiful home.

Sean and I still feel so lucky to live here.

We love our house so much and it just keeps getting better and better.

We've changed some things since we moved in and I did my first blog post of our house.

I love our garage. I don't know how people fit everything into two car garages.
And I love that our garage is painted a fun color.


 

Here's what our house looks like when you walk in the front door.

We still have a lot of empty wall space in the front room.

But we have furniture now.

 

I bought slip covers for Grammy's love seats.

I painted Grammy's end table yellow to match another end table I got.

Now I just need to figure what color I'm going to paint Grammy's coffee table.

 



I did put a few pictures up.

Here's the dinning room and kitchen.

I love the way the table turned out.

The chairs had a nice pop of color.

So do the bar stools too.

I bought yellow paint for the pantry door. Now I just need to paint that too.

I want to get a sign above the picture ledges that says, "Christensen bring honor to the name."

 





Sean and I made this magnet board and art display hooks.

I want to some vinyl about the magnet board that says "I love to see the temple."

And above the art I want vinyl that says, "Christensen Wall of Fame."

 



I put vinyl above the garage door.

And I got vinyl for a giant growth ruler.
Now I just need to get some wood.

It's going to go between the door and the cupboards.

 



I got vinyl to go above the window that says, "This kitchen is for dancing."

I just need to paint the board that it's going to go on and put it up.

 



We painted an accent wall in the living room. I love it!

We also hung up Sean's instruments.

Where the bookshelves are we're going to put the piano.

Sean's supposed to bring that down from Washington next month.

And I want to get vinyl about the temple picture that says, "Families are forever."

 



You can see our new baby gate system.

 



Another thing we've done since we moved in is install ceiling fans and blinds.

 



 

Now upstairs.

In the loft is our computer desk. We painted that after we moved in.

Now I just need to figure out what to put on the wall above it.

I'm thinking a map.

 

We've been painting!

The laundry room is yellow and the master bedroom is blue.

I eventually plan to paint all the kids' rooms too.

 





Here's the master bedroom.

I love this color!

Sean painted the room for me for Valentine's.

He knows the way to my heart.

 



The TV is our room for now.

I want to move it downstairs when we finish the basement.

 



We installed more picture ledges.

I'm obsessed with those!

We put them in all the bedrooms and in the front room and living room.

 



 

 Here's the laundry room.

I painted it and we got a new washer and dryer.

 

 

Back in the loft.

Here's the baby gate.

And you can see a picture I found at the DI of Christ with four children, one boy and three girls.

 

Here's Eli's room.

He got bunk beds last summer.

 



And here's Ruby's room.

 



And Lexi and Avery's room.

They switched bunks and got picture ledges. But much hasn't changed in there.

 



And here's our basement.

It's still unfinished and unorganized.

But it's improving.

 

 

 



And now our backyard.

We now have a fence on the west side and a large patio.
