Finishing Our Backyard - The Dirt Work

 Last week, we finally got started finishing our backyard.
We really liked the guy who put in our patio last fall.
So we got a bid from him back in February.
After that it took a few weeks for our neighbors to meet with him and get on board.
Since we're splitting the cost of the fences, we all needed to be ready at the same time.
Once we were on the schedule, it took several more weeks to actually get started.

 

The first thing they did was move some dirt from the Robinson's yard into our ours, level it all out and remove the Robinson's old concrete.

 



To say that Eli was excited would be an understatement.

 



Sean was working at the office that day, so I took lots of pictures and kept texting them to him.

 



Between the two yards, they work for about four hours.

 



Eli was so excited about the machinery.

 



The Robinsons yard is on a slope.

But they wanted a flat area for their trampoline and a play set in the future.

So Neil moved dirt around to make that possible.

 



During all this, our trampoline was in the Rupps yard.

Some of the kids watched from there.

Next is getting the fences put in and digging the trenches for the sprinklers.
