For the first time ever, Sean took the kids with him to work for Take Your Child to Work Day.
His office hasn't really done it in the past but decided to do it this year.
The older three kids were excited to go.
They got up early and got all dressed and ready to go.
Sean started later than normal though.
Eli was so excited to match his dad.
I had just bought them these matching shirts on clearance at Old Navy
and was dreaming of an occasion for them to wear them together at.
So this was perfect timing.
Sean gave a presentation to all the kids about what they do for work.
He made it interactive and fun.
And now I think my kids might actually know what an auditor does.
In Sean's office building their is a little gym.
He and his work buddies like to go up there for breaks.
Sean took the kids there several times that day.
He is pretty sure that was their favorite part of work.
I guess most kids sat in the conference room while their parents worked.
But ours wanted to sit at Sean's desk.
So that's where they sat the whole day.
Sean only worked about a half day. But I am not sure how much work he actually got done.
I went to the dollar store and bought all the kids coloring books and sketch pads,
sticking notes and stickers to take to keep themselves busy with.
Eli was talking to me while this picture was taken.
He called me from work to tell me how his day was going. It was so cute.
Before lunch they took a group picture of everyone with their kids.
When Eli found out that he was going to work with his dad,
the first thing he asked was if he was going to a restaurant.
That boy loves going out to eat!
Sean took the kids on Trax to City Creek to get lunch.
On the way back to the office they went past this mural.
I guess when it was time to go home, all our kids said they wanted to stay at work.
And the following day, Eli told me that he didn't want to go to school that he wanted to go to work.
I'm glad that had such a good time.

Our dumb school didn't tell us it was take you kid to work day. Normally they send home a flier. So all of the sudden I find out its back to school day but it was too late. Lyla had been looking forward to it all year. I called the school and asked if they sent something home and they told me they dont like to advertise for it because they dont like the kids missing school. So, so lame.
ReplyDeleteOur school has never announced it. Probably because my kids had to miss state wide testing to go.
