Now that we live in a house with front room and living room,
it doesn't feel like we have a lot of holiday decorations.
So I need to get/ make more decorations.
So I went to the D.I. and bought a bunch of picture frames and painted them Halloween colors.
Then I printed pictures from past Halloweens and put them on my picture ledges.
I painted some wood and put some vinyl on them.
Then I sewed some little banners.
I still ended up with some empty frames but I'll put pictures from this year in them.
(Sorry these aren't the best pictures.
I remembered to snap them right before I took the decorations down.)
The kids decorated little haunted house which are on the top shelf in the picture below.
And I painted the wood candle holders at a Super Saturday activity.
I also painted and put together the wood pumpkins.
I also painted and put together the wood pumpkins.
I also bought some deco mesh and made some garland for the front room and a wreath.
I love the way my wreath and wood sign turned out.
We carved pumpkins. I didn't take a lot of pictures though.
I don't even know if I have a picture of the carved pumpkins. Ooops!
Of course I had to take pictures of the kids all dressed up in their costumes.
I didn't do a big photo shoot like I did last year with the kids.
I just snapped a few pictures before they went Trick-or-Treating.
...
Lexi changed her mind about her costume so many times!
She drove me crazy!!!
First, she was going to be Cruella de Vil, then she was going to be Sofia the First,
then an owl and then a witch. And she kept going back and forth between them.
For her witch costume I only bought the tulle fabric for her cape which was on clearance.
Everything else we had at home.
Lexi insisted on wearing my witch hat
instead using the one she used for her witch costume three years ago.
Mine has a veil on it.
She has it down in front of her face in this next picture.
And of course she insisted on getting a picture with a broom.
(Ignore the giant sunspot.
I didn't realize it was there until after I was done taking pictures and she was out Trick-or-Treating.)
Originally Avery was going to be Elsa.
I was trying to push that idea since she got the dress for her birthday this year.
But Avery kept telling me that she wanted to be a unicorn.
Finally, I agreed to let her be a unicorn.
One of the ladies on my street crochets so I asked her to make Avery's hat.
And Avery insisted that she had a tail too.
I'm so excited with how her costume turned out.
And now she has a new hat for the winter.
You can't really see her horn in front of the stucco wall but she looks so cute!
In front of the grass you can see her horn better.
Eli didn't understand what the idea of a costume was
nor did he wanted to dress up as anything that I suggested.
I'd ask him, "Eli do you want to be a Minion for Halloween?"
or "Eli do you want to be a dog for Halloween?"
And every time he'd say no.
Finally he agreed to be a fire fighter. We already had this jacket and the boots.
I thought about getting him a hat but I didn't think he would wear it.
I decided that Ruby would be a Cabbage Patch Doll.
I had my neighbor make her yarn hair
and a lady I know in town with a heat press machine made her shirt.
Ruby was teething and had a runny nose on Halloween so she didn't go out.
But I still had to take pictures of her in her costume.
I had a hard time narrowing down which pictures to share.
I just love her little personality in these pictures.
She was in no mood to wear her hat and get her pictures taken.
She was being a little feisty. She'd ripped off her hat and laugh about every 10 seconds.
Now that Halloween is done, it's time to start thinking about Ruby's Birthday and Thanksgiving!
