Seeing the Lights on Temple Square

Last week for Family Home Evening we went to Temple Square to go see the Christmas Lights.
I think we have done this every year we have lived in Utah,
minus the year that Ruby was a newborn.
...
We parked at City Creek Mall.
The kids loved the fountain.

In an effort to keep my kids warm, I made them wear snow pants.
It worked, no one complained that much about being cold.

Then we walked across the street to the temple.
Eli really wanted to go touch the temple.
He was so excited.

We enjoyed walking around to see all the nativities set up from around the world.

These are all phone pictures taken at night so they are not the best quality.
I didn't want to take my big camera.

Afterwards we walked back to City Creek and grabbed some food.
Then we walked back to look at the fountain.

Carving Pumpkins

Our friends Paul and Patty invited us over for FHE and pumpkin carving the week of Halloween.
Lexi was really excited and got really into it.
After her pumpkin was finished she helped Paul with his.

Lexi made some really great faces while cleaning out her pumpkin.
Sean used a stencil to carve an owl on her pumpkin. It turned out great.

Avery wasn't as animated about it or as excited as Lexi.
Patty helped her carve a princess.

Sean borrowed a tool from our neighbors that you hook up to an electric drill
and it cleans out the pumpkin for you. It did an amazing job too. We need to get one of those.

Eli had no interest in sticking his hands in a pumpkin.
And I didn't no get into the carving. It's not my thing anyway and the smell of the pumpkins
was making me nauseous. So I just quickly carved a question mark into Eli's pumpkin.

All Eli did that night was play with Paul and Patty's two puppies. He was in Doggie Heaven.

And I didn't get any pictures of the final products. The pumpkins wilted and rotted so quickly.

Sam's Phone Pictures from September

I just cleared all the pictures off my phone. Here are a few of the ones that I took in September.
We had a FHE lesson about the First Presidency and the Quorum of the 12 Apostles.
(It seems disrespectful that this pictures is upside down but for some reason that's how it uploaded.)

Shopping at Sam's Club.

One-on-one time with Eli while both of the girls are at school.

Eli loves the basketball court and hoop in the middle of the complex.
Probably because he frequently sees his dad playing their with all the 12 year olds.

Lexi drew this picture of her dad in Sacrament meeting.
Then she held it up high so he could see from the stand.

Eli and I played outside a lot while the girls were at school because
Avery couldn't do a lot of outdoor things with her boot and cast.

Eli and I took a trip to the library by ourselves. Going places with one kid seems so easy now!

Sean and I took turns taking Lexi to String Camp.

Sean and I went to Yogurtland after my night at String Camp.

Avery is the funniest. She just loves laying and lounging around. I found her like this one morning.

Suckers and they are instantly quiet and happy.

We go on family walks around the complex almost every night.
One day, Eli didn't want to let go of the scriptures he was looking at.
He wanted to carry them with him on the walk. He's so spiritual.

It's just too fun not to play with the costumes at Target...

Shopping at Best Buy. Sean got Chrome Cast and we love it!

Family date night at Yogurtland. We love that place!

The girls playing in my Grandpa's backyard. Look at the "Fairy Garden" in all the rocks.
The girls were fascinated by them.

Eli unsure about the car wash.

Avery just being Avery on the swings...

Lexi pushing Eli.

Wendy's. The kids were excited to each get their own water.

When Lexi saw these pumpkins she exclaimed, "Those are expensive! $99!"

Shopping at Target with Thing 2 and Thing 3.

Sean being the counselor in the Branch Presidency over Primary goes to Primary a lot.
The kids just love him. He is always doing something hilarious!

Here's Lexi at P.E. at school. Which was all in Spanish.

And here she is at running time at school. She is all smiles when I come to school every Monday.

She's just the cutest little student!
