July 2018 - Enjoying Our Backyard and Our New Tree

Our rose bushes bounced back and were so pretty.
I've decided that I really like growing roses.

To be honest, I wasn't a fun of our sunflowers.
A lot of them grew facing the fence. And they attracted a lot of bugs.

But our sunflowers made a nice bouquet at the end of the season.

Our butterfly bushes were awesome.

We moved our lilac trees from our patio to our fence.

Petunias proved to be the easiest thing to grow.

We had be discussing ways to shade our swing set.
And decided that we were going to plant a tree in front of it.
It was kind of a spur of the moment decision.
We're suckers for trees.

Here's our yard before we planted our new tree.

Ty's favorite place is our backyard. He loved being out there this summer.

The kids loved getting wet any way they could.

Our cat chased a mouse into our window well. The kids spent an evening watching it and talking to it.

Lexi loved  checking out garden for produce.

July 2018 - Building a Shed

Another blog post about building our shed. It took so dang long to build.
So it deserves several blog posts. It took up a lot of our summer.

So while Sean was doing to shingles on the peak, he straddled the roof
and I didn't need to hold onto the ladder. One time he told me that I could go inside and check on the kids. I got a little distracted because well, I have five kids and they're demanding.
Anyway, I lost track of time and then realized that Sean was still on the roof!
I felt HORRIBLE! It was hot and he didn't have a phone and none of our neighbors were outside.
The ladder was still there but he didn't feel comfortable going down it without me holding onto it.
We can laugh about it now but it wasn't funny at the time.

June 2018 - Building a Shed

We ordered a shed kit from Costco.
We had been looking at this exact kit for a while and then it went on sale.
So we bought it and all of a sudden we were building a shed!

It was a lot of work building this shed and it took more time then we thought it would to finish.
But we love it!
