Saturday we did all the "Easter things" that have nothing to do with Easter (Christ).
The kids woke up and got their Easter baskets.
Eli got some new Hot Wheels cars and a track.
Val kept the kids in the house while me, Jared, Sean and Eli hid eggs.
We hid a lot of eggs but the kids were so fast at finding them.
I love the look on Lexi's face.
She was so worried that stopping to look for a picture would stop her from getting lots of eggs.
Growing up we always went to my grandparents' house for Easter.
One year when my uncle Boone was hiding eggs he decided to eat the candy inside one of the eggs.
He couldn't leave it empty so he filled it with dirt.
It became a tradition. Every year there was always one dirt egg.
Us grandkids thought it was hilarious. We were always so excited to see who would get it.
We also got eggs filled with money each year.
This year we did both of those.
The kids were all thrilled to get some money.
And Lexi got the dirt egg.
She wasn't impressed but I think I work on making the tradition stick.

The girls got roller skates. They were so excited.

Once Avery and Eli had their basket and started eating their candy,
they couldn't have cared less about posing for a picture.

It was perfect slip-n-slide weather.
So the kids tried out the slip-n-slide Devin and Addie got in their Easter Baskets.

Four armed baby!
That night we walked to an ice cream shop.
Not the best quality picture, but it was a perfect night in the desert.
Sunday morning, we had to take some pictures before church.
I bought these two matching ties. I was excited about it.
We had a delish Easter dinner-
Ham, funeral potatoes, rolls, green beans with bacon and a salad.
And for dessert we had strawberry shortcake. It was awesome!
...
Monday morning we said goodbye and headed home.
We had a great time. Thanks for having us Jared and Val!
