August 6, 2016 - Lexi's Baptism Day

Exactly one month after her eighth birthday, Lexi was baptized a member of
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
It was such a happy day for our family.
It was such an exciting day to witness the baptism of our oldest child.

Sean baptized Lexi.
It was the first time that he's every baptized someone in English.

Lexi asked my dad to do the confirmation.
He cried when she asked him.
He was so touched.
He's never done that before.

There were a lot of kids in our stake getting baptized that.
It was so neat to see them all in the chapel dressed in white.
It was our ward's turn to be in charge of the program.
So I was asked if someone I knew would give a talk about the Holy Ghost.
We asked my mom to do that and she did an amazing job.
I remember she told the kids that the Holy Ghost is like the wind, you can't see it but you can feel it.
After Lexi was baptized she told me that the water was warm and that she felt happy.
My dad did a great job doing the confirmation.

And afterwards I was asked to bear my testimony.
I cried, a lot. Lexi cried too.
I was so happy and so proud of her.
...
Here's Lexi with the two kids from our ward that also got baptized that day.

And here's Lexi with her good friend Lawsen.

Afterwards, we took some pictures outside before heading home.

Someday when Lexi is getting married, I'm going to take a picture of her holding this picture
and then I'll have a picture of her in her three white dresses all in one picture.

Nana gave Lexi a necklace with a real pearl. She was so excited about.
She loves that necklace!

We had a brunch set up and waiting for us at our house.
We rented a double blow up water slide for the kids to play in.
They were so excited about that!

Here's Lexi and Mikayla. They've known each other since they were newborns in Rexburg.

And here's Eli with Lucy (Mikayla's little sister).
We are hoping that he marries her some day so that we can be related to her parents.

The kids put on a quick Cousin Band performance in the basement.

And then it was back to playing outside.
Eventually everyone left but two of our neighbors.
The kids play in the water until dinner time when we had to take that thing down and return it.

It was such a memorable day.
I'm so happy that Lexi was able to share it with family and friends.
