Washington Trip 2014 - Exploring Snohomish

Our family spent several afternoons exploring Snohomish,
the cute little town that Sean lived in his entire life before his mission.
One afternoon, we walked along the Snohomish River.
This boat was in this same spot the entire time we were in Washington.

This is a little house built under the train tracks. There is even a little staircase.

We walked down First street and looked at all the shops.

We went inside the Pegasus, Sean and I used to go there when we were in high school.
It's an antique shop like many of the stores in Snohomish.
(Snohomish is the antique capital of the northwest.)

Lexi found these owl mugs and tea set at a tea store. She wanted them, of course.

After walking around we got shakes at the Pilchuck Drive-In and took them to Hill Park.

The kids wanted to explore Blackman's Lake.

Another afternoon we went and got some Niko's Teriyaki on Avenue D.
(It's still just as delicious as ever!)
We ate it at Pilchuck park.
Then we went and waded in the Pilchuck River.
The kids loved it!

My swollen pregnant feet found the water so refreshing.

Lesson learned, the kids will always get wet, really wet, when there is water of any kind.
So I need to always have swimsuits and towels in the van during the summer.

These people are my world!

Eli was so excited to see a dog.

I love that we are creating memories where ever we go.

Washington Trip 2014 - Jetty Island

Our family went to Washington state for two weeks at the beginning of the month.
I took a little over 3,200 pictures. I've narrowed it down to the best 1,000.
Now, I have to go through the 1,000 pictures and figure out which ones to share on our blog.
It's gonna take me a while and I'm not going to blog in order of what we did,
just in order of which pictures I get organized first.
...
One day, Sean and I took the kids to Jetty Island in Everett.
It's a man made island where the Snohomish River meets the Puget Sound (I think).
You have to ride a little ferry to get to the island.
The kids were so excited to go to the Ocean and play on the beach.
When we got there it was low tide.

The kids just enjoy playing in the puddles of water and the sand.
And I was content to sit my pregnant self under our big umbrella and just take pictures.

You can see in this next picture that the tide was coming in.
I was amazed how quickly it came it.

At one point there was mist on the beach. It looked so strange.

Lexi dug a river from a little puddle. She was pretty proud of herself.

And here's the water right before we left. It was almost up to our blanket.

The girls covered themselves in sand and pretended they were eels.
Here they are trying to scare me.

Avery making a sand angel.

Eli was so happy to just play in the sand and water. He had a great time.

Avery just dancing around and being her silly little self.

Lexi trying to cover her brother in sand. He was not a fan.

It was a fun afternoon. I'm glad we went. I think we'll go again to Jetty Island next summer.
