3 Months Old

A few weeks ago, on February 25th, Ruby turned 3 months old.
She had RSV at the time, but I still managed to snap a few pictures.
Look how much she's grown!

Here's a comparison from birth to now.

Ruby is such a sweet baby. She hardly ever cries. Only when she's hungry or tired.

Ruby loves to nurse. We spend a lot of time together nursing.
That helps explain all the growing she's been doing.

Ruby is in size 3 diapers but keeps having blow outs
so I'm wondering if it's time to move her up to size 4.

Ruby is really long/ tall. I can hardly snap up her 6 month pajamas anymore.

Ruby just started taking a binky and sucking on her hand/ fingers/ thumb.
It helps her fall asleep.

Ruby smiles all the time and makes the cutest little sounds.
We all adore her.
I've even taught Eli to call Ruby, "Best Friend."

And since Ruby turned 3 months old, she's rolled over once.

RSV

As I mentioned in my previous post,
we all started coming down with colds and nasty coughs while my parents were here.
The day they left, Ruby wasn't acting like herself anymore.
I could tell she was miserable and something was wrong.
The next day we found out that Ruby had RSV (along with all my other kids) which I suspected.
In addition to that, Ruby had an ear infection.
So she went on antibiotics.
Eli and Ruby had it the worst. They had several sleepless nights.
And were coughing a ton and had a constantly runny nose.
Ruby slept in her car seat for about a week straight because every time she laid down, she'd cough.
We had the humidifier running constantly too.
There was one morning when Ruby cough for 30 minutes straight and kept nearly choking.
It was horrifying.
But for the most part, Ruby was great through it all, she just wanted to be held a lot and sleep.
I didn't take a lot of pictures that week, I was just trying to survive.
I did manage to snap this picture of Ruby in her car seat while she was sitting next to the humidifier.

And poor Eli, he had it the longest.
I had to share these pictures. He's so miserable but they are so funny.
I'm a mean mom.

I'm happy to report that we are healthy again.
Winter is rough! Especially with a newborn.
Eli got RSV as a baby too.

Grandma and Grandpa

Last month, my parents came and stayed with us for 10 days.
It was their first time meeting Ruby.
And Lexi was off track.
My kids love my parents and my parents adore my kids.
So they just love being together.
While they were here we went shopping, out to eat, they look the kids outside, we made cookies, my mom and Lexi taught an FHE lesson together about Jonah and the whale, we went to Scheels, both of my girls dolls lost a leg on the same day and my parents bought them new dolls, I took them to see our new house (which I will eventually blog about), we watched movies and played games and my parents babysat while Sean and I went out on a date. And we just enjoy hanging out at home together.
While my parents were here, we all started coming down with colds though.
I think that might be part of the reason I didn't take too many pictures.
I always feel guilty for not taking more pictures, believe it or not.
But I'm always grateful for the pictures that I do take. I cherish them.
Some of the pictures I took were out of focus (darn it!) and half of them are still on my phone.
So I'm only going to share a handful of pictures.

I should mention that this was the first time I've ever seen my dad without facial hair.
(Well once when I was in high school,
he surprised us all and shaved it off and then grew it right back.)
I'm still getting used to his naked face.

Ruby loved sleeping in my parents arms.

Attempting to get a group shot is always comical.

I'm so blessed to have two of the absolute most loving people as my parents!
They are such generous and kind heart people.
They also are hilarious. I'm always laughing when we're together.
They truly are some of my very best friends. I talk to them on the phone several times each week.
I absolutely loved having them here and instantly missed them when they left. We all did.
I'm already counting down until we see them again!

Presidents' Day Weekend

Presidents' Day weekend was also Valentine's Day weekend.
My parents were both in town and Sean's brother Josh and Sean's brother Jared and his family.
We spent most of the weekend just hanging out.
It was Jared and Val's first time meeting Ruby.

Val spent as much time as she could holding Ruby.

I love this picture of Jared and Ruby not because Ruby is crying when she met Jared.
But because it shows Jared's light blue eyes and I love Jared shirt,
plus it shows off Ruby's one long hair.

It was fun to see Josh again.

Devin and Eli have a special bond. They LOVE each other so much.
Maybe it's because they both only have sisters so they need to stick together.

The kids spent most of their time together just playing imaginary games.
I love that they are all turning into such good friends.

These two found some make up. Avery's face is cracking me up. So much attitude!

One afternoon we took the kids outside to play at our playground.
None of them wanted to pose for a picture. Shocking!

It was the first time all the grandkids were together since Ruby was born.
So, naturally, I wanted a picture.
Not all the kids are looking but we never expected that with 10 kids.
But it was a miracle that no one was crying or trying to run away!

We decided to all go bowling before the weekend was over.
Lexi and Eli had a lot of fun. Avery wasn't so into it.

Twins!

Half of the pictures I took at the bowling alley are still on my phone.
I'm too lazy to get them right now. Maybe I'll add more pictures later.
Right now I'm just in a hurry to get caught up on blogging.

Ruby's Baby Blessing

Sunday, February 15th was Ruby's baby blessing.
She looked beautiful and Sean did a wonderful job blessing her.
Seriously, it was a beautiful blessing.
I snapped a few picture of her in her very long dress before church.

She has the prettiest blue eyes and most adorable round cheeks. I'm just so in love with this girl!

Ruby was ready for a nap so she wasn't happy.
I tried to get pictures of Ruby with whoever was around before she started crying.
I wish I had tried to get more pictures taken later.

Ruby with my dad.

I need to find the pictures I took of Sean with Ruby.

Three generations.

Here's all our family that came. We are so grateful they came to share this special day with us.

Our little family. One out of four kids is looking. That's totally normal.

My college roommates Mary Ellen and Hannah came. It was so great to have them there.

I have the best husband and he's so handsome too!

We love you Miss Ruby Morgan!

Here's the post I did about Eli's blessing, and the post I did about Avery's blessing
and the blog post about Lexi's baby blessing.
