Two weeks ago, we brought Miss Ruby home from the hospital.
We are all so in love with her.
I thought I'd share pictures. Lots of pictures. And some thoughts on the last two weeks...
The kids all love to hold Ruby.
The first week we had Ruby, Avery kept asking me if Ruby missed Heaven.
And she'd ask me what Ruby was dreaming about.
And Avery would kiss Ruby all the time and tell me that she wanted Ruby to be happy at home.
Lexi was excited that we can call Ruby, "Ruby Tuesday."
And for awhile, Lexi was referring to herself as, "Lexi Sunday."
Because she was born on a Sunday.
The first two weeks, Ruby slept in her car seat at night.
She just wouldn't sleep in her crib. It was starting to stress me out.
Last night was the first night I got her to stay asleep in her crib.
The secret is swaddling her in an Aden & Anais blanket.
She especially likes having her legs cuddled up into her chest.
This week was my first week being alone and Lexi's first week back at school.
I'm tired but I'm doing better than I thought I would.
I have managed to make dinner once, do several loads of laundry and dishes.
And keep all the kids fed and alive.
Ruby has blue eyes like Lexi and Eli.
And this makes Lexi really happy. She's been hoping that Ruby would look like her.
Ruby gets the hiccups almost daily. I remember Lexi getting them a lot.
Both Lexi and Avery say that Ruby is their best friend.
Ruby is the sleepiest baby! She is hardly ever awake!
Whenever she is she just wants to nurse.
Sean took two weeks off work. And Lexi was off track during that time.
It was nice to have Sean home and not have to take Lexi to school.
Whenever Ruby is awake, the girls get really excited about being able to see her eyes.
Ruby hasn't got baby acne yet.
Her skin has been pretty clear.
Right now she is definitely the easiest of the four kids.
My recovery has been good this time around.
I didn't get any prescription pain medication this time
and was off ibuprofen within a few days of coming home.
But I did get a mastitis infection again this time!
Ruby isn't a fan of getting strapped into her car seat.
She gets upset and cries until I pick up the car seat and start walking.
That's about the only time she cries.
After a few days, Ruby was out of newborn diapers and into size one.
Here's Halle and Parker meeting their new cousins.
My one year old nephew, Austin, was really excited about Ruby but I didn't get a picture.
Eli looks GIANT compared to Ruby!
Eli LOVES "holding" his baby sister.
Lexi has been wanting to dress Ruby in a doll outfit since before she was born.
Here's Lexi and Ruby in a matching girl and doll night gown.
Ruby can still wear most of her newborn clothes but the feetie pajamas are getting kinda tight.
She's almost too long for them.
She already starting to wear three month pajamas.
