Primary Pioneer Trek

We moved last week, two buildings over within our complex.
That moved us from the Mountain View 2nd ward to the 6th ward.
Earlier this week, members from the Primary presidency in our new ward
came over to introduce themselves.
They also brought brownies and invitations to a Primary Pioneer Trek.
All week Lexi was so excited for the Trek today.
Avery decided that she wanted to go too, so our whole family ended up going.
Here's the girls in the best pioneer clothes that we could come up with.

The invitation asked kids to bring wagons if they had one.
This little one is the only wagon we have.
Avery wanted to bring something too.
Neither girl actually pushed these though.

Here's the kids getting ready to start.

We walked around a block in our ward.
The first stop at someone in the wards yard where the kids picked up "fire wood."

We carried the wood to the another house.
There the primary president shared stories.

Then the kids got in a big circle to play, "Goose, goose, fox."

Someone picked Lexi to be the fox.
She walked around the circle patting everyone's head while saying, "duck, duck, duck..."
Then she realized that she wasn't saying the animals that we were using for this particular game.
And she started bawling.
Luckily, Sean saved the day.
He helped her finish and then carried her in his arms around the circle while they were being chased.
Avery got up to walk with Sean and Lexi
and then started bawling when they ran around the circle without her.
Sean then had to hold her and comfort her.
Our poor girls get nervous and shy in big groups and around new people.
But they actually did really good today.

Here is Lexi jumping over the "snakes."

We stopped at several mores homes before we got to this one and ate scones.
And everyone was welcome to pick and take apricots with them.
Avery was so excited!
She ate like five right then and there.

And here's the girls wading through the "river."

We stopped at another house to take group pictures.
Eli was happy to get out of his stroller and explore.

Then we walked back to the park where we started.
And there were more snakes!
This was the girls favorite part.

Avery walked through the snake sprinklers several times.
She showed off her Minnie Mouse bloomers too.

After playing in the sprinklers, Avery realized that Sean, Lexi and Eli had walked ahead.
She went running to find them at the park.

Then the kids ate watermelon while Eli just played in the grass.

Sean and I got to meet several people in our new ward.
Everyone was so friendly!
It seems like a great ward.
We are really excited.
