Back in February we planted some seeds and placed them in trays
in our front room under some grow lights.
Here's what our plants looked like at one month and two months.
...
First is Dianthus. Here they are at one month.
And here they are at two months.
Petunias were slow to germinate but are taking off now.
And here's our Forget Me Nots. Avery picked these out. Here they are in March at one month.
And here they are this week at 2 months.
Here are our Royal Carpet Alyssums. They will be blue or purple. I can't remember.
Here's our Carpet of Snow Alyssums.
Look at those flowers!
Here are our Geraniums at 1 month.
And here are our Geraniums at 2 months.
Here are more of our Geraniums at 2 months.
When we planted our Geraniums in February,
we put half of them in single pots and half in smaller trays.
The ones planted in the pots are growing bigger.
So Sean is currently working on repoting all of them into the bigger single pots.
And here are our herbs.
First up is our Parsley at 1 month.
And here is the Parsley at 2 months.
Here's our Cilantro.
Rosemary.
Oregano.
Chives.
Basil at 1 month.
Basil at 2 months.
Sweet Basil at 1 month.
Sweet Basil at 2 months. It smells so good.
Thyme.
A few weeks after we planted the original seeds, Sean planted chard.
Here it is now at about a month and a half old.
Here are all our seeds now under the grow lights.
In about a month, we will plant them outside.
We are learning a lot. Next year we will place the plants closer to the lights.
And we realized about a week ago, that we should not be spraying the plants with spray bottles anymore like we did when we first planted them.
We realized that this was causing the roots to be so shallow.
Now we are watering them regularly and they are all flourishing.
This has been a fun little experiment and we will definitely be growing seeds again.
