Art and Education

I gave the girls a ream of 700 sheets of paper for Christmas
and I think we only have about 200 pages left.
They love coloring.
I took some pictures of their art yesterday.
I really should scan them now that I have a new printer.
Oh well this will do for now..

Lexi loves preschool.
Most days before school she tells me that she doesn't want to go.
But every day after school she raves about how much fun she had.

Last week they had their mid year evaluations.
Lexi told me after class, "I thought the test would be horrible but it turned out good."
Lexi did great on her test.
Miss Tami wants her to work on writing her numbers and holding her pencil.
...
Look at this next picture.
It's Lexi, Halle and Avery swimming in a river when they are 11, 10 and 9.
Lexi is so creative, she just is always drawing pictures of new things.

Lexi knows all of her colors and the basic shapes, she know the letters and their sounds.
He knows my cell phone number.
And she is can recognize and continue patterns.

Lexi struggles writing some letters and numbers backwards.
Sometimes she will write all of Eli's name backwards.
I mean in backwards order but also all the letters will be backwards too.
...
Here is a picture of her beloved lion stuffed animal, "Lon."

I am trying to figure out what to do for Lexi's schooling next year.
The elementary school we are zoned to go to next year is starting all day kindergarten and to be honest, I'm not excited about it. At least not for my first kid. I just don't feel ready.
Lexi is on the waiting list to go to the same elementary school as her cousin Parker.
And Lexi is also on a waiting list for a charter school by our house. If she went there she's wear a uniform. But I'm not sure if she'll get into it. They fill the open spots with a lottery drawing.
So it's all up to luck.

Lexi loves making cards. Below is a card she made for Sean
with a picture of me and Sean getting married.

And here is some of Avery's artwork.
You can see the person is wearing a hat and has eyes and a mouth and nose.

Here's another person.

Avery is so excited to go to preschool.
Every time we drop off or pick Lexi up, Avery talks about how she wants to go to preschool too.
And Avery loves Lexi's teacher. She always wants to see Miss Tami.
On Sunday, Tami wasn't at church, Avery was looking around the chapel and kept asking,
 "Where's Miss Tami?"

3 Months Old

Last week Eli turned three months old and I took these pictures of the little guy...

Eli is laid back most of the time. He is usually okay chillin' in his bouncer or swing.

Eli doesn't like binkies, just like his sisters.

Eli doesn't take bottles anymore but now that he's older
and I am taking him out with me more it hasn't been an issue.

Sometimes I can just lay Eli down in his crib and he will fall asleep all by himself.

Usually around 6 pm Eli is ready for bed. He'll sleep until 7 to 9 am.
He'll wake up to nurse two or three times.

Eli is wearing size 4 diapers. He could wear 3's but I just started using Avery's size 4 diapers on him.

Eli just discovered his hands. He always has them in his mouth.

Eli loves it when Sean whistles to him.

 Eli doesn't like tummy time.
Probably because he can't do it without the girls next to him or all over him.

Eli is wearing size 9 and 12 month clothes.

I took these pictures of Eli in this bow tie for Lexi. She's been wanting him to wear it.

Eli loves it when I play Peek-a-Boo with him. He instantly laughs.

I bought these feetie pajamas for Eli because I once saw a picture of Sean wearing ones just like them.

Eli likes me to "dance" him to sleep as Sean calls it.
I hold him diagonally across my body.
Then I walking with him while bouncing him and patting his bum.

Eli loves his bath. He sticks his legs and wiggles.

Three Month Comparison

Here's some pictures of the girls when they were three months old.
They were so much smaller than our Eli is!
It's so fun too look back and see how much they've grown.

Opposite Ends of the Charts

Avery will be three years old in April and Eli is three months old today.
Here's some pictures of these two.
They are opposites. Avery is crazy about Eli and full of energy and so loud.
Eli is just a chill little guy. He's happy and laid back.
Avery has steadily been in the bottom 10% of the charts of her weight. She's teeny!
That's why one of her nicknames at our house is peewee.
And then there's Eli who is nearly at the very top of the charts for everything!

I decided to measure their waists. Avery's is 16 1/2 inches around and Eli's is 19 inches.
I also measured Lexi, her waist is also 19 inches around!

FYI, In these pictures they are both wearing size 4 diapers.

These pictures really show their relationship.
Avery is just crazy about Eli and always wants to be with him.
In fact, Sean sings, "Where Eli is there's Avery also. Where Eli is there Avery wants to be."
(To the tune of the hymn "Where Love Is.")
